Incorporated in 1912, Manhattan Beach is a city of approximately 33,000 residents. Located approximately 19 miles from downtown Los Angeles, just a few miles south of Los Angeles International Airport, it is an ideal location for residents who commute to the Westside, downtown L.A. or travel for business.
From beach cottages to multi-million dollar homes, Manhattan Beach is the most expensive of the beach cities that make up the South Bay community. The school system is considered one of the best in California and Mira Costa High School is one of the best in the country. Located just 23 miles south of Los Angeles, this beautiful beach city was incorporated in 1907 and has a population of over 19,000. This city of approximately 63,000 adopted cityhood in 1892 and is 6.35 square miles, making it the largest of the beach communities comprising the South Bay.
